Description

  • Lead governance initiatives across SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform.
  • Assess and remediate legacy configurations, over-permissioned content, and stale collaboration resources.
  • Drive tenant modernization aligned to Microsoft best practices and enterprise governance standards.
  • Design and maintain least-privilege permission models across Microsoft 365 workloads.
  • Develop automated renewal profiles for user and group membership recertification on a recurring basis.
  • Partner with Security and GRC teams to ensure access controls meet compliance and audit expectations.
  • Define and operate lifecycle management for Microsoft 365 resources, including archiving, decommissioning, and sprawl reduction.
  • Implement and manage retention and records management policies with Legal and GRC stakeholders.
  • Support Microsoft 365 migration and integration efforts for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Automate governance and administration using AvePoint, PowerShell, Power Automate, SharePoint Advanced Management, and Microsoft Graph.
  • Analyze large governance and usage data sets to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities.
  • Produce operational and compliance-focused reports and act as an escalation point for complex governance issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as engineering or computer science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience, with deep SharePoint Online experience.
  • Proven experience cleaning up, governing, and modernizing enterprise Microsoft 365 tenants.
  • Strong background in permissions management, lifecycle governance, retention, and compliance-driven collaboration.
  • Experience partnering with Legal, GRC, and Security teams on retention and data protection initiatives.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas, and data normalization.
  • Strong automation capability using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, Power Automate, and SharePoint Advanced Management.
  • Microsoft certifications are not required but are a plus.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 migrations, including tenant consolidation or M&A-driven integrations, preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Purview retention and records management, preferred.
  • Experience with AvePoint Cloud Governance, ShareGate, Power BI, or similar tools, preferred.
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Chat, Agents, and Copilot governance considerations, preferred.
  • Power Platform governance experience, including Power Automate and Power Apps, preferred.
  • Experience supporting globally distributed teams, preferred.
