Description

  • Produce high-quality promotional content that is scientifically robust, strategically aligned, and brand consistent.
  • Develop and refine copy for promotional campaigns, brand narratives, detail aids, leave pieces, emails, congress materials, claims support materials, and digital promotional tools.
  • Apply ABPI Code of Practice requirements to ensure all materials meet compliance standards.
  • Interpret complex scientific data and translate it into clear, credible promotional messaging.
  • Conduct targeted literature searches to support brand messaging, claims, and promotional narratives.
  • Develop multiple rounds of content with annotations, references, claims support, and ABPI-compliant substantiation.
  • Incorporate internal and client feedback into final deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Account, Editorial, Creative, Digital, and Client Services teams to deliver work on time and within budgeted hours.
  • Lead scientific discussions with clients and external experts, including MLR review sessions.
  • Provide mentorship and first-pass review support for junior writers and contribute to process improvements.

Requirements

  • PhD in a scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in medical writing, ideally within a medical communications agency.
  • Strong emphasis on pharmaceutical promotional materials experience.
  • Demonstrable experience developing brand campaigns, brand narratives, detail aids, leave pieces, emails, digital promotional content, and congress materials.
  • In-depth understanding and practical application of the ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and reference-management tools such as EndNote.
  • Experience using literature databases such as PubMed.
  • Ability to learn new therapeutic areas quickly and communicate clearly and persuasively.
  • Consistent use of internal communication tools such as Teams.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and live events.
