Description

  • Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and off-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees in the US and Canada using UKG.
  • Maintain and audit employee timekeeping data within the Workforce Management system.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and taxes accurately.
  • Research and resolve payroll and timekeeping discrepancies with employees and managers.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state/province, local, and Canadian payroll laws and regulations.
  • Assist with payroll-related audits and provide supporting documentation.
  • Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and variance analyses as needed.
  • Support year-end payroll processes, including W-2s and other required filings.
  • Communicate payroll updates and issue resolution through email, phone, and the ticketing system with timely escalation.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to payroll processes, controls, and system efficiencies.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of payroll experience.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with UKG.
  • At least 1 year of experience with UKG’s Workforce Management System.
  • Working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, including California wage and hour rules.
  • Intermediate to regular use of Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and pivot tables, for reconciliation and audits.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Clear, professional communication skills with a customer service mindset.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Preferred experience supporting payroll for multiple states and Canada.
  • Payroll certification such as FPC or CPP is a plus.
