Description

  • Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems.
  • Debug production issues across multiple layers of the stack.
  • Collaborate with Business, Product, and Data Science teams to solve customer pain points at scale.
  • Design, develop, implement, and deploy enterprise-level web application platforms.
  • Improve system architecture and create technology infrastructure that functions well at scale.
  • Stay current with software development technologies and methodologies.
  • Participate in key architectural discussions and help drive engineering excellence.
  • Work closely with a distributed, cross-cultural team using agile principles and milestone-based delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a technical role designing, developing, and releasing technical solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a first-principles approach.
  • Experience building scalable products or systems and understanding how complex systems fit together.
  • Comfort working with multiple moving pieces and data sources with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate nuanced technical ideas clearly in writing and in real-time discussions.
  • Experience working in a diverse, dynamic, cross-cultural team.
  • Proficiency with Python-based backend programming, Flask, and Amazon Web Services is preferred.
  • Ability to design RESTful APIs and follow best practices.
  • Experience with Docker, Git, Elasticsearch, Spark, and CI/CD is a plus.
  • Experience as an early engineering hire at a startup that built a product from scratch to scale is preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to a new tech stack if needed.
