Description

  • Design, build, maintain, and debug APIs, services, and systems across multiple layers of the stack.
  • Collaborate with Product, Business, Data Science, and Engineering teams to solve customer pain points at scale.
  • Design, develop, implement, and deploy high-availability web application platforms.
  • Own the end-to-end design and implementation of real-time data handling across ingestion, normalization, and model-driven recommendations.
  • Improve system architecture and create technology infrastructure that functions reliably at scale.
  • Build customer-facing features and harden internal tools used by the team.
  • Create alerting and monitoring surfaces that detect issues before they affect customers.
  • Instrument systems, identify bottlenecks, and implement fixes that hold up under future growth.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and make defensible trade-offs around system design.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager and product team to support new product development, deployments, and scaling efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in a technical role designing, developing, and releasing technical solutions and production systems.
  • Experience taking a product or system from early stage to scale, or owning system design in a large engineering organization.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture and scalable product or system design.
  • Comfort working with multiple moving pieces and data sources with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to think from first principles and explain technical trade-offs clearly.
  • Experience working effectively in diverse, dynamic, cross-cultural teams.
  • Hands-on, goal-oriented approach with experience working to milestones and agile principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining nuanced technical decisions.
  • Proficiency with Python-based backend development, Flask, and Amazon Web Services.
  • Ability to design RESTful APIs and follow API best practices.
  • Experience with Docker, Git, Elasticsearch, Spark, and CI/CD is a plus.
  • Experience using AI tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or Claude productively and critically.
