Description

  • Operate and modernize a large-scale industrial edge computing platform.
  • Support Docker-based applications across a fleet of more than 100,000 edge devices.
  • Work on deployment automation for remote and distributed environments with intermittent connectivity and limited bandwidth.
  • Troubleshoot production systems remotely, including devices that may be offline for extended periods.
  • Collaborate directly with enterprise customers to resolve operational issues.
  • Partner with the engineering team to solve complex platform and deployment problems.
  • Improve container networking, image optimization, and multi-stage build practices.
  • Support safe software updates and device reconnection scenarios at fleet scale.
  • Help detect and address unhealthy applications running on remote industrial gateways.

Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
  • Experience supporting Linux systems in production.
  • Experience deploying applications to remote or distributed edge environments.
  • Experience operating systems across unreliable, high-latency, or bandwidth-constrained networks.
  • Strong understanding of container networking.
  • Experience troubleshooting production systems remotely.
  • Familiarity with container image optimization and multi-stage Docker builds.
  • Strong Linux troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent customer communication skills.
  • Experience with IoT, Industrial IoT, IoT gateways, edge computing, manufacturing automation, connected vehicles, mining, energy, oil & gas, utilities, retail edge deployments, smart factories, or industrial networking is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Docker Swarm, Portainer, MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, edge gateways, VPN technologies, reverse proxies, mTLS, embedded Linux, ARM devices, systemd, or shell scripting is highly desirable.
  • Kubernetes knowledge is a nice to have.
  • CI/CD experience is a nice to have.
  • Infrastructure automation experience is a nice to have.
  • Monitoring and observability experience is a nice to have.
  • GitHub Actions experience is a nice to have.
  • Python or Go development experience is a nice to have.
