Description

  • Manage and prepare quarterly and year-end US and Canadian income tax provisions for legal entities.
  • Oversee tax balance sheet accounts, uncertain tax positions, and related financial statement disclosures and analyses.
  • Facilitate and manage income tax return preparation and timely filing for Canadian and US compliance obligations.
  • Review tax instalments and maintain effective control procedures across tax processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies within tax operations.
  • Research tax positions, accounting issues, and risk management matters and present recommendations for approval.
  • Support planning and execution of transfer pricing, R&D, SR&ED, special projects, and M&A activities with internal partners.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Corporate Development, HR, FP&A, Controllership, Revenue Operations, and other teams.
  • Manage and mentor members of the tax team.
  • Support and manage income tax audits, including responses and schedule preparation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance, preferably with a CPA designation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Canadian and US income tax law.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian foreign affiliate rules.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting and tax reporting under IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems proactively and in a timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Experience with the SaaS industry and acute/post-acute healthcare customers is preferred.
  • Master’s degree in tax and/or CPA in-depth tax courses is preferred.
  • Experience with major ERP systems such as NetSuite or Workday is preferred.
  • Experience with Alteryx is preferred.
  • People leadership and mentorship experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with Finance, Accounting, and Legal teams is preferred.
