Description

  • Architect and evolve the Android automation framework for a growing portfolio of security products.
  • Design testing strategies for VPN-specific scenarios, including network-dependent flows and unstable or switching connections.
  • Work closely with developers and other QAs to troubleshoot issues and deliver detailed bug reports.
  • Uphold QA best practices and contribute to the overall QA strategy.
  • Continuously evaluate and introduce new testing tools and methodologies to improve the QA process.
  • Maintain and scale automation coverage across mobile products and UI variants.
  • Support testing of feature-flagged flows and variant-dependent user interfaces when needed.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience automating UI tests for Android apps written in Kotlin.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Espresso and Kakao-Cup.
  • Ability to test screens built with both Jetpack Compose and classic XML.
  • Experience with Robolectric and Mockito for test infrastructure and mocking dependencies.
  • Comfort building and maintaining CI pipelines in CircleCI and using Bash/sh scripting for automation and result processing.
  • Experience sharding and parallelizing tests with Flank and configuring device matrices in Firebase Test Lab or similar emulators.
  • Understanding of the challenges involved in testing VPN apps, including network-dependent flows and connection-state flakiness.
  • At least upper-intermediate level of spoken and written English.
  • Preferred experience maintaining UI test suites across multiple apps in mono-repo and multi-repo setups.
  • Preferred comfort with ADB, log analysis, and the Android build process via Gradle (Kotlin DSL).
  • Preferred experience testing A/B frameworks, including feature-flagged flows and variant-dependent UI.
  • Preferred familiarity with testing Google Play Billing integrations, including subscriptions, purchase flows, and edge cases.
