Description

  • Manage one to three sites and serve as the responsible party for all on-the-ground operations and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and electrical policies, including site safety requirements and ERCOT weatherization guidelines.
  • Perform quality and safety inspections and audits of field technicians’ maintenance work.
  • Coordinate and schedule planned and unplanned maintenance, repairs, outages, and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Identify, report, and help resolve critical site issues to maximize uptime and maintain contract compliance.
  • Support field O&M providers, onsite technicians, vendors, and asset managers on maintenance, repairs, and technical issues.
  • Create, track, and complete service work orders and warranty claims for corrective repairs and warranty work.
  • Maintain daily records and documentation to support regulatory compliance.
  • Determine root causes of underperforming systems with support from performance engineering and the O&M field team.
  • Travel up to 60% to support in-field work, onsite supervision, and other field managers during outages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or five years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least two years of direct experience in BESS and/or solar site operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe industrial work practices and a commitment to site safety.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with management, contractors, landowners, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working effectively in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Electrical, inverter, and BESS certifications or licenses preferred.
  • HV electrical certification or experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
  • Experience with electrical isolation (LOTO) procedures for low- and high-voltage equipment.
  • Experience running and managing teams locally and remotely.
  • Flexible work hours and travel to remote areas required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs., work from a ladder, walk long distances for inspections, use forklifts or small motorized equipment, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to respond in person to the site within a reasonable period of time.
  • Preference for candidates located between Austin and San Antonio or near Midland, Texas.
