Description

  • Establish and maintain the UX/UI development roadmap while upholding the game vision with the Game Director.
  • Represent UX/UI in feature prioritization and goal-setting discussions to ensure player experience supports core gameplay, social systems, monetization, live events, and progression.
  • Collaborate with the Art Director to define the user interface look and feel and communicate direction and feedback to the UX/UI team.
  • Deliver wireframe specs, user flow diagrams, information architecture, interactive prototypes, and related UX/UI documentation.
  • Design from first principles by studying the game genre, analyzing competitive references, participating in playtests, and working with User Research to uncover player needs and usability issues.
  • Establish and maintain UX standards, best practices, design systems, pipelines, and component libraries across the studio.
  • Build and maintain a healthy UX/UI team through management, staffing plans, hiring, and external development management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with directors, leads, and teams across game design, art, engineering, and testing to align on UX/UI vision.

Requirements

  • Experience leading or directly supporting leadership on an ongoing live service game.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous UX/UI design work in games.
  • Expert written and verbal communication skills, including presentations, wireframes, flows, prototypes, and design documentation.
  • Expert ability to articulate UX/UI design decisions and work effectively with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Expert ability to give and receive constructive feedback and determine next steps.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Expert ability to create functional prototypes and accompanying technical documentation.
  • Strong management, strategy, planning, and team-building experience.
  • Strong understanding of design and user-centered principles.
  • Strong understanding of game development pipelines and technical constraints.
  • Experience bridging the gap between technical specs and player experiences.
  • Experience with multiplayer genres and across a variety of platforms, including PC and console.
  • Preferred: experience with global gaming markets and the competitive gaming/esports landscape.
  • Preferred: familiarity with development using Unreal Engine.
