Description

  • Own the design goals and implementation of progression systems for both new and returning players.
  • Deliver achievement and reward structures that encourage pro-social and collaborative behavior in team games.
  • Set standards for player motivational loops that are ethical, meaningful, and enriching.
  • Define player experience goals and evolve the economic ecosystem using leadership feedback, live KPIs, and community sentiment.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional leads on combat, social systems, and UX to deliver sustainable systemic solutions.
  • Oversee and drive seasonal content delivery to keep the community engaged and delighted.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in building goal-driven, competitive multiplayer game progression and economies.
  • Demonstrated empathy for different player motivations in PvP games and ability to design engagement incentives.
  • Proven ability to propose design concepts and perform hands-on implementation using scripting or prototyping tools.
  • Expertise in balancing content perishability against long-term persistence and seasonal resets.
  • Experience testing and running economy and progression resets in a live-service multiplayer environment is ideal.
  • Self-driven, collaborative across crafts, and highly effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Track record designing game economies that encourage social connections through virtual goods (preferred).
  • Experience delegating work or ownership to multidisciplinary peers (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 (preferred).

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $172,000 to $258,000 USD for Seattle, with pay varying by geographic location.
