Description

  • Establish and drive the global sound vision and creative direction for PlayStation Studios.
  • Partner with executive, studio, and audio leadership to align sound strategy with broader studio goals.
  • Ensure sound quality consistency and world-class standards across global studios.
  • Lead research and development initiatives with internal teams, hardware partners, and external vendors.
  • Oversee implementation pipelines and improve sound quality and performance standards.
  • Define and guide the global sound technical roadmap with technology groups.
  • Direct investment in tools and technologies that support audio creation and delivery.
  • Maintain relationships with external recording and production partners.
  • Lead global communication for the sound department, including conferences, PR, and industry forums.
  • Monitor resources, staffing, budgets, headcount, and succession planning for the global sound organization.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of audio leadership experience within AAA game development.
  • Minimum of 6 shipped AAA games in a senior sound leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing, mentoring, and inspiring high-performing sound teams.
  • Deep expertise in interactive audio, post-production, and advanced authoring tools such as Wwise, FMOD, or proprietary engines.
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary game development workflows, including animation, level design, AI, physics, and mechanics.
  • Exceptional executive communication, presentation, and organizational leadership skills.
  • History of delivering innovative, high-quality sound experiences under tight time constraints.
  • Collaborative, visionary leadership style with a passion for pushing audio boundaries in gaming.
  • Experience partnering with hardware teams, technology groups, and external vendors (preferred).
  • Experience leading global communication, recruiting, and workforce planning efforts (preferred).
