Description

  • Define and evolve the frontend architecture for mobile client applications using React Native and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Drive performance optimizations for rendering, startup time, and UI responsiveness.
  • Design and integrate custom native modules for Android and iOS and improve cross-platform interoperability.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and researchers to turn user experience requirements into maintainable solutions.
  • Establish coding standards, testing strategies, and development patterns for frontend engineering.
  • Mentor engineers and share frontend expertise across the team.
  • Evaluate new frontend technologies, frameworks, and performance techniques and guide adoption.
  • Represent frontend and OS needs in technical and architectural discussions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience, with significant React Native or high-performance JavaScript/TypeScript experience.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Expertise in native Android development, including Kotlin, Java, and Gradle, and experience shipping to the Google Play Store.
  • Strong experience with frontend performance profiling, optimization, and debugging.
  • Deep understanding of cross-platform architecture and bridging between JavaScript and native modules.
  • Proven track record of delivering production-quality mobile or desktop applications with React Native.
  • Experience designing scalable frontend architectures and reusable UI frameworks.
  • Strong collaboration skills with native engineers, designers, and product managers.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership through project নেতৃত্ব, mentoring, or engineering strategy.
  • Bonus: experience with social, community, gaming, or other consumer products; VoIP/call dialing and ringing flows; accessibility, internationalization, UI testing frameworks; CI/CD pipelines and modern build systems; or early-stage startup/zero-to-one product experience.

  • Estimated Ontario base pay range: $141,900 to $212,900 CAD.
