Description

  • Build tooling and reporting to provide cloud cost visibility by domain, team, and project.
  • Own the Amazon EKS platform, including cluster architecture, upgrades, multi-tenancy, networking, and workload isolation.
  • Design and maintain Terraform modules and reusable infrastructure provisioning patterns.
  • Standardize CI/CD with progressive delivery, automated rollback, and safer production deployments.
  • Plan and execute incremental cloud modernization and migration initiatives.
  • Harden the platform through IAM boundaries, secrets management, network policies, image provenance, and audit controls.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and lead infrastructure-related incident response.
  • Set multi-quarter technical direction and document cloud infrastructure strategy.
  • Drive technical quality through design reviews, code reviews, and mentorship of senior engineers.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of infrastructure, platform, or site reliability engineering experience, including staff-level or equivalent individual-contributor experience.
  • Production experience operating Amazon EKS under real-world load, including architecture, upgrades, autoscaling, multi-tenancy, and troubleshooting.
  • Expertise with Terraform modules and state management across multiple environments.
  • Fluency with the CNCF ecosystem and AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Experience building cloud cost and usage visibility tools, dashboards, or showback programs that influenced engineering decisions.
  • Experience leading incremental cloud modernization and migration initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Go, Python, or TypeScript for building production tooling.
  • Working knowledge of AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFront, RDS, CloudWatch, and Cost Explorer.
  • Experience influencing technical change across teams without direct authority.
  • Strong written communication and design documentation skills.
  • Experience with high-throughput video, streaming, or real-time media delivery is preferred.
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry, New Relic, Istio, Karpenter, Cluster Autoscaler, Graviton, Spot, ArgoCD, or progressive delivery frameworks is preferred.
  • Experience establishing an infrastructure practice from an early or senior-most engineering position is preferred.
