Description

  • Provide UX guidance based on industry best practices and accessibility standards.
  • Ensure usability practices align with the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) for government platforms.
  • Identify and implement UX solutions within the existing technical environment.
  • Conduct usability research and recommend design improvements to enhance customer journeys.
  • Develop wireframes and storyboards to visualize UX solutions and user interactions.
  • Translate wireframes and user flows into technical specifications for developers.
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, and stakeholders to support implementation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including standups, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
  • Communicate UX recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Document usability research, design decisions, and best practices for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in UX/UI design, usability, or front-end design.
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS).
  • Knowledge of federal accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG.
  • Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and customer journey maps using Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or Axure.
  • Ability to translate UX designs into detailed technical specifications for development teams.
  • Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Must reside in the United States.
  • Preferred experience designing UX solutions for government agencies or regulated environments.
  • Preferred knowledge of HTML, CSS, and front-end frameworks.
  • Preferred familiarity with usability testing methods and tools.
