Description

  • Provide 24/7 security monitoring, event investigation, analysis, and countermeasure recommendations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for PPFA’s SIEM platform, currently Splunk, including configuration, administration, operation, and management.
  • Maintain and refine SIEM event filtering, event identification processes, and alerting workflows.
  • Collect and analyze security event data, assign events appropriately, and document triage outcomes.
  • Handle Tier II escalations and support technical assistance for Tier II and Tier III incidents as assigned.
  • Collaborate with InfoSecOps, ITOps/MSP, MSSP, ATS, PPFA staff, and affiliates on security event architecture and reporting.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures for the Information Security Ops group and recommend process improvements.
  • Assist with vulnerability assessment setup, scanning, analysis, and remediation efforts.
  • Support incident response activities as assigned by management.
  • Interface with IT operations to ensure proper security event logging setup and maintain SIEM-related security tooling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience working with newer technologies and a strong interest in the security domain.
  • Ability to make independent decisions about escalation paths, analysis tracks, and incident handling.
  • Experience with compliance requirements and standards such as PCI, HIPAA, ISO 27001, NIST, CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, ITIL, COBIT, Sarbanes-Oxley, and SANS 20.
  • Experience with UNIX, AIX, Solaris, Linux, and Windows Server operating systems.
  • Knowledge of IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and penetration testing systems.
  • Familiarity with wireless networking, switches/routers, firewalls, TCP/IP, VPN, VLAN, NAT, and related security concepts.
  • Experience with software and hardware asset management.
  • Experience conducting forensic analytical studies and investigations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to quickly changing priorities and ambiguous situations.
  • Deep commitment to Planned Parenthood’s mission of promoting sexual and reproductive health.
  • 0-10% travel as needed.
