Description

  • Act as the Directly Responsible Individual for overall program success.
  • Lead contract execution for regional satellite constellation programs.
  • Serve as the main bridge between Planet and MENA customers, integrating regional needs into execution strategy.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, product, finance, and commercial functions.
  • Ensure program capabilities align with customer requirements and Planet’s business model.
  • Keep assigned programs aligned with Pelican’s commercial, technical, and product roadmap.
  • Assess and manage execution risk across engineering, launch, and operations.
  • Represent programs to senior leadership and the broader company.
  • Act as Planet’s ambassador to partners, customers, and the press as needed.
  • Build and maintain customer credibility, relationships, and satisfaction through the full contract lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in space systems development, management, and/or operations; aerospace and tech program experience of similar scale may be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Fluent in Arabic and professional working proficiency in English.
  • Deep expertise in LEO satellite operations, satellite design, and mission success requirements.
  • Knowledge of tasking business models and remote sensing technology.
  • Ability to operate decisively with minimal guidance and high autonomy in an information-rich environment.
  • Ability to make decisions aligned with Planet’s technical and strategic roadmap and core values.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and organizational risk, and willingness to make decisions that create clarity for execution teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain team alignment.
  • Ability to travel within the Middle East as needed and to California or Germany 2-3 times per year.
  • Ability to stay available for Pacific and Europe time zones and collaborate asynchronously.
  • Experience developing, managing, or operating large satellite constellations (preferred).
  • Experience leading major corporate initiatives through cross-departmental teams (preferred).
  • Experience proactively managing and mitigating program risk for space programs (preferred).
  • Must be able to access U.S. and German/EU export-controlled information without additional licensing requirements.
