Description

  • Own security operations, including monitoring, alert triage, incident response, and remediation.
  • Administer and improve AWS security, with some exposure to Google Cloud.
  • Manage endpoint security and device controls using tools such as CrowdStrike and Jamf.
  • Automate recurring security and IT workflows across multiple companies.
  • Partner with infrastructure and engineering teams to identify risks, improve configurations, and implement fixes, including code contributions when appropriate.
  • Manage dependency hygiene and software supply chain security, including third-party code vetting, pinning, and monitoring.
  • Support identity, access, device, and internal IT security for a globally distributed team.
  • Develop and maintain security procedures, playbooks, and documentation.
  • Assess and strengthen the ingestion, storage, access, and protection of sensitive datasets across the DATA Network ecosystem.
  • Prepare for and defend against account compromise, credential theft, and social-engineering threats.

Requirements

  • Professional experience in cloud security, IT security, security engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong practical knowledge of AWS security, including IAM, logging, monitoring, and secure configuration.
  • Experience with endpoint detection and response and device-management tools; CrowdStrike and Jamf experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience automating operational workflows through scripting, APIs, infrastructure tooling, agents, or security orchestration.
  • Ability to handle both security engineering and hands-on internal IT responsibilities.
  • Proactive, low-ego approach with ownership from identifying gaps through completing solutions.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Sound judgment under pressure and a practical approach to balancing security, speed, and usability.
  • Experience securing data platforms, ingestion pipelines, or high-value datasets is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud or Google Workspace security, Web3 or blockchain environments, or shared security functions supporting multiple entities is preferred.
