Description

  • Own end-to-end design for Closeup experiences across iOS, Android, and web from early exploration through launch and iteration.
  • Partner with cross-functional leads to define goals, metrics, and experiment plans that drive measurable product impact.
  • Simplify complex, modular experiences by improving information hierarchy, interaction patterns, and module behavior across multiple Pin types and use cases.
  • Collaborate with adjacent teams including Home, Search, Visual Search, and Gestalt to align patterns and deliver a cohesive product experience.
  • Use Figma and interactive prototyping to explore options, validate direction, and speed decision-making with partners.
  • Lead critiques and design reviews, raise the craft bar, and mentor other designers through feedback and collaboration.
  • Design experiences that are accessible, inclusive, and mindful of content quality and safety considerations.
  • Leverage AI tools to generate and compare concepts and interaction approaches, then refine them with strong product judgment and craft.
  • Partner with ML, Product, and Engineering to shape AI-aware Closeup experiences that improve relevance, clarity, and actionability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of product design experience with ownership of significant consumer product surfaces.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong interaction design, visual craft, and systems thinking, with shipped work iterated based on feedback or data.
  • Proven ability to lead ambiguous problems, set direction, and drive alignment with senior cross-functional partners.
  • Experience using AI in the design workflow to improve speed and quality, including generating options and synthesizing inputs.
  • Experience designing for mobile and platform considerations with strong product judgment and attention to detail.
  • Comfort working in an experimentation- and measurement-driven environment, including defining hypotheses and learning from results.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate tradeoffs, present clearly, and influence decisions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and designing for diverse audiences.
  • Preferred: Experience owning a high-traffic detail, viewer, or consumption surface such as content detail pages, product pages, or media viewers.
  • Preferred: Experience with shopping evaluation, trust signals, or decision-support UX.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with personalization and ranking constraints, or designing modular experiences at scale.
  • Preferred: Strong accessibility expertise and examples of inclusive design leadership.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $158,765 to $326,870 USD for U.S.-based applicants.
  • Eligible for equity.
  • Flexible working model with in-office collaboration required only 1-2 times every 6 months.
  • Role can be situated anywhere in the country.
