Description

  • Develop an end-to-end UX design and UX research project for a startup idea of your choice.
  • Lead product scoping and feature scoping for the project.
  • Identify the target market and position the product for launch success.
  • Develop a business model and explain how the product or service scales.
  • Plan and conduct discovery research, including recruitment, interview guides, and 8-16 user interviews.
  • Synthesize research insights and present qualitative and quantitative evidence to justify the problem and solution.
  • Create user-centered deliverables such as personas, journey maps, service blueprints, sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and UX workflows.
  • Lead usability testing of wireframes and prototypes and iterate on the solution.
  • Design a design system from scratch, including components, style guide, and branding.
  • Analyze direct and indirect competitors and consult with startups on UX research, design, product design, or service design work.

Requirements

  • Open to new grads and UX career changers.
  • Interested in creative career paths in UX research, UX design, product design, or service design.
  • Willing to commit 5-10 hours per week to program deliverables.
  • Willing to attend 2-3 hour weekend lectures or complete online video course modules.
  • Open to feedback from UX mentors and willing to revise design work.
  • Able to complete a short application that includes a LinkedIn profile and resume.
  • No UX resume or portfolio required to apply.
  • Applicants should be comfortable with a brief interview process if selected.
  • Must be available to participate in a 7-month program.
  • Preferred candidates may be at the very beginning of a career change and still exploring multiple career options.
