Description

  • Develop measurement frameworks and metrics to guide data-driven decisions across the full user journey.
  • Provide product recommendations and communicate actionable findings to product and engineering leadership.
  • Write clear analyses that identify opportunities to improve growth strategies and address performance gaps.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and ML leaders to scope and prioritize Notifications projects.
  • Inform the development of the notifications user experience and related machine learning systems.
  • Improve machine learning models powering notifications delivery and content through direct contributions, new signals, features, and analyses.
  • Mentor other data scientists and help set the scope of their work.
  • Lead initiatives across multiple product areas and influence technical direction and output.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of combined post-graduate academic and industry experience applying scientific methods to web-scale data problems.
  • Strong background in statistics, machine learning, and/or experimentation.
  • Expertise in at least one scripting language, ideally Python or R.
  • Proficiency in SQL/Hive.
  • Strong business and product sense with the ability to turn vague questions into clear analyses and success metrics.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present compelling data narratives to leadership and product teams.
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional teams and iterating on products through A/B experimentation.
  • Experience leading key technical projects and substantially influencing the scope and output of others.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience mentoring or managing the work of other data scientists is preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $164,695 to $339,078 USD for US-based applicants.
  • Eligible for equity.
  • Remote-friendly setup with in-office collaboration only 1-2 times per quarter.
