Description

  • Build Pinner-facing frontend features in Android that support Pinterest’s inspiration experience.
  • Contribute to the full product development lifecycle from ideation through implementation and release.
  • Prototype rapidly, run A/B tests, and develop solutions that scale to millions of users.
  • Partner with design, product, and backend teams to deliver end-to-end functionality.
  • Suggest new product ideas and features based on user needs and product opportunities.
  • Use automated testing to deliver features with a high level of technical quality.
  • Own the components and features you develop.
  • Leverage AI to accelerate drafting, prototyping, iteration, and comparison of approaches.
  • Use AI to synthesize information and automate repeatable tasks such as documentation, reporting, and QA checks.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industry Android application development experience building consumer-facing or business-facing products.
  • Deep understanding of Android development and best practices in Kotlin and/or Java, including Activity Lifecycle and memory management.
  • Experience writing reliable and maintainable code used by other engineers.
  • Ability to stay current with new technologies and evaluate what should be incorporated.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in day-to-day workflow.
  • Strong ability to critically evaluate and verify AI-assisted work through testing, source-checking, data validation, and peer review.
  • High integrity and ownership, including protecting sensitive data and remaining accountable for final decisions and deliverables.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
  • Ability to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times every 6 months.
  • Role can be situated anywhere in Ontario.
