Description

  • Define and drive Pinterest’s technical strategy for agentic engineering across the organization.
  • Architect and ship production systems for agent runtimes, persistent memory, orchestration, sandboxing, evaluation, governance, and security.
  • Reimagine the software development lifecycle so coding, testing, reviewing, deploying, and monitoring operate in an AI-native workflow.
  • Own measurement systems for developer velocity, agent quality, reliability, cost, and engineering throughput.
  • Integrate AI-native workflows with monorepo tooling, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and code quality systems.
  • Provide architectural direction, make disciplined build-versus-buy decisions, and set quality standards through reference implementations.
  • Drive engineering-wide adoption through prototypes, technical evangelism, documentation, and reference architectures.
  • Build strategic relationships with AI platform vendors and contribute to open-source agentic frameworks.
  • Translate ambiguous business opportunities into concrete engineering investments with strong product sensibility.
  • Serve as a key technical advisor to senior engineering leadership and help shape hiring, investment, and multi-year technical direction.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Deep expertise in developer platforms, internal tooling, or engineering infrastructure that has measurably changed how engineers work at scale.
  • Hands-on experience designing and shipping agentic AI systems in production.
  • Knowledge of context engineering, persistent memory architectures, multi-agent orchestration frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph, tool integration, and observability for AI systems.
  • Experience working in large-scale monorepos or complex multi-service codebases.
  • Familiarity with AGENTS.md conventions, skills frameworks, prompt engineering for code agents, and AI-powered IDE or local agentic workflows.
  • Track record of driving large-scale technical change across engineering organizations of 500+ engineers without direct authority.
  • Deep understanding of modern SDLC tooling and workflows, including code review systems, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and static analysis.
  • Exceptional cross-functional influence and communication skills across Security, Infrastructure, Platform, Product Engineering, and executive audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Base salary range of $242,634 to $499,541 USD for U.S.-based applicants.
  • Eligible for equity.
  • Remote-friendly role that can be situated anywhere in the country.
  • In-office collaboration required only 1-2 times every 6 months.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
