Description

  • Define the multi-year strategy and operating model for infrastructure cost governance and FinOps at Pinterest.
  • Own annual planning, quarterly re-forecasting, variance management, and execute-to-budget mechanisms for infrastructure investment.
  • Lead a team of TPMs and FinOps practitioners across spend transparency, efficiency, capacity planning, and vendor performance programs.
  • Build source-of-truth reporting, dashboards, and business reviews that make infrastructure cost, usage, and performance visible and actionable.
  • Partner with Finance, Engineering, Product, and Procurement leaders to drive trade-offs across innovation, reliability, cost, and growth.
  • Establish scalable guardrails, escalation paths, and accountability models that maintain financial discipline.
  • Sponsor cloud vendor strategy and performance management with engineering and finance stakeholders.
  • Coach and develop senior leaders while raising the bar on operational excellence, decision quality, and inclusive leadership.
  • Use GenAI as the default operating model for program execution, including AI-assisted drafts, workflow automation, and proactive risk and dependency synthesis.
  • Prototype solutions using AI coding assistants to augment decisions, simplify processes, and improve program operations.
  • Apply Pinterest AI guidance to handle sensitive data, validate AI outputs, document assumptions, and ensure compliance before broad adoption.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading large, cross-functional technical portfolios through senior TPMs, managers, or FinOps practitioners.
  • Deep familiarity with cloud and infrastructure systems and the cost, capacity, and reliability implications of technical decisions.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including planning, forecasting, KPI management, and investment trade-off analysis.
  • Track record building durable governance mechanisms, reporting frameworks, and operating cadences that scale across many teams.
  • Executive presence and proven ability to influence senior leaders across Engineering, Finance, Product, and Procurement.
  • Strong analytical judgment and experience using data to drive decisions, accountability, and course correction.
  • Experience with infrastructure cost management, cloud financial management, FinOps, or related disciplines is strongly preferred.
  • Commitment to inclusive leadership, talent development, and building high-performing organizations.
  • AI-first execution mindset with demonstrated ability to use GenAI to accelerate planning, program operations, and stakeholder communications.
  • Experience turning repeatable program work into durable, low-toil mechanisms using GenAI, dashboards, data analysis, and lightweight scripts or tools.
  • Experience operating within AI governance expectations, including risk assessment, data handling, model/output validation, and auditability/traceability.
  • Ability to identify where AI use is not appropriate or requires additional controls.
  • US-based applicants only.
  • Ability to work remotely, with in-office collaboration required 1-2 times every 6 months.
  • Not eligible for relocation assistance.

  • Base salary range of $192,929 to $397,206 USD.
