Description

  • Build deep learning and machine learning technology to personalize Pinterest.
  • Experiment with and improve machine learning models across multiple product surfaces.
  • Use data-driven methods to improve candidate retrieval and recommendation quality.
  • Develop and optimize large-scale recommendation algorithms.
  • Apply natural language processing to recommendation systems.
  • Collaborate with teams across Pinterest on rapid experimentation and product launches.
  • Monitor industry trends in recommendation systems.
  • Work in a high-impact environment with telecommuting and remote work permitted.

Requirements

  • PhD or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
  • At least two years of experience in the offered role, or at least one year in the offered role or a related software or machine learning engineering position.
  • At least one year of experience using Java to develop scalable, high-performance backend services for real-time recommendation pipelines.
  • At least one year of experience experimenting with and improving machine learning models.
  • At least one year of experience developing and optimizing large-scale recommendation algorithms.
  • At least one year of experience applying natural language processing to recommendation systems.
  • Experience with Python, algorithms, data structures, signal processing, and data mining.
  • Experience adapting machine learning methods to distributed clusters, multicore SMP, or GPU environments.
  • Experience gathering, manipulating, and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensional data from varied sources.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving abilities.

  • Base salary of $246,916–$332,012 per year for U.S.-based applicants.
