Description

  • Own accounting operations, financial close, reconciliations, reporting, cash management, and internal controls.
  • Prepare financial statements and lead audit processes for GAAP compliance and external review readiness.
  • Supervise accounting personnel and maintain accurate finance processes and records.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, tax coordination, commissions, and management reporting.
  • Manage the administrative relationship with the company’s PEO, including payroll, benefits, onboarding, offboarding, and compliance.
  • Maintain employee documentation and coordinate approved HR policies and processes.
  • Escalate material financial, employee-relations, legal, and compliance matters to the COO.
  • Provide financial and HR insights and recommendations as a member of the leadership team.
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders, founders, and the broader Pine ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of accounting experience, including financial statement preparation, multi-entity consolidation, and GAAP compliance.
  • Experience identifying and resolving data anomalies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Experience leading or supporting financial audits and meeting tax requirements.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting financial information to finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Hands-on, adaptable approach suited to strategic and tactical work in ambiguous environments.
  • Public accounting experience; CPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience with HR administration, PEO relationships, and compliance coordination.
  • Experience scaling a finance function in a high-growth or private-equity-backed environment.
