Description

  • Propose, design, and provision cloud-native data solutions on AWS and Azure.
  • Lead technical teams operating and managing modern data platforms across streaming, data lakes, and analytics.
  • Own multiple simultaneous customer accounts and serve as the technical leader across varied technology stacks.
  • Translate complex customer needs into Epics, Stories, and Tasks, and delegate work to engineers.
  • Coach engineers and ensure timely delivery of customer-facing technical initiatives.
  • Recommend technologies and approaches that improve performance, security, scalability, and user satisfaction.
  • Lead discussions and provide design recommendations for data models in data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to automate, optimize, and expand customer data platforms and managed services.
  • Provide architectural guidance and operational support for enterprise data platforms and cloud-native warehouses.
  • Deliver detailed technical presentations and communicate effectively with clients and executive audiences.

Requirements

  • Production support experience with enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or Databricks.
  • Extensive experience providing architectural guidance and operational support for a cloud-native data warehouse such as Snowflake and/or Redshift.
  • Background in Systems Engineering, DevOps, DBA, or Data Architecture.
  • Production experience with cloud and distributed storage technologies such as S3, ADLS, HDFS, ElasticSearch/Solr, Cassandra, or other NoSQL systems.
  • Production experience with data integration technologies such as Spark, Kafka, event streaming, Fivetran, HVR, NiFi, AWS Data Migration Services, or Azure Data Factory.
  • Production experience with workflow management and orchestration tools such as Airflow, AWS Managed Airflow, Luigi, or NiFi.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, including the ability to write, debug, and optimize queries.
  • Deep expertise with cloud-native data technologies in AWS or Azure.
  • Proven track record of improving processes and procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
  • Experience leading and mentoring engineers.
  • Ability to learn new technology stacks quickly and support team upskilling and training.
  • Experience creating and delivering technical presentations for executive audiences.
  • Excellent client-facing written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation (preferred).
  • Proven ability to use Python to automate repetitive support tasks (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, Flyway, and Liquibase (preferred).
  • Snowflake SnowPro Core certification (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
