Description

  • Operate and manage modern data platforms across streaming, data lake, and analytics environments.
  • Own multiple simultaneous customer accounts across varied technical stacks and serve as a technical leader.
  • Proactively identify best practices and recommend improvements for customer cloud data platforms.
  • Build epics, stories, and tasks to mature customer data platforms and guide delivery.
  • Delegate work to and coach engineers to ensure successful and timely delivery of initiatives.
  • Recommend technologies and approaches that improve performance, security, scalability, and user satisfaction.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to automate and optimize existing processes.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience providing architectural guidance and operational support for a cloud-native data warehouse such as Snowflake and/or Redshift.
  • Expertise with cloud-native data technologies in AWS or Azure.
  • Production support experience in a large enterprise environment supporting cloud data platforms and related technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, including writing, debugging, and optimizing queries.
  • Proven experience learning new technology stacks and training team members.
  • Professional track record of creating, challenging, and improving processes and procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills, including database administration.
  • Experience creating and delivering detailed presentations.
  • Client-facing written and verbal communication experience.
  • Preferred: production or database administration experience and certifications in Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP, Hadoop, or Databricks.
  • Preferred: experience with cloud and distributed storage technologies such as S3, ADLS, HDFS, GCS, Kudu, ElasticSearch/Solr, Cassandra, or other NoSQL systems.
  • Preferred: experience with data integration technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Streamsets, Matillion, Fivetran, HVR, NiFi, AWS Data Migration Services, Azure DataFactory, or Google DataProc.
  • Preferred: experience with workflow management and orchestration tools such as Airflow, AWS Managed Airflow, Luigi, or NiFi.
  • Preferred: experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or Cloud Formation.
  • Preferred: strong scripting skills for automation, preferably Python.
  • Preferred: experience with CI/CD frameworks and tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, Flyway, or Liquibase.
  • Preferred: experience as a technical team lead.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
