Description

  • Lead a team in the testing and commissioning of power system protection and control schemes.
  • Read and interpret drawings to support commissioning activities and troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during field commissioning work.
  • Manage direct reports and delegate tasks as needed.
  • Prepare and submit commissioning reports and related documentation.
  • Assist with creating commissioning startup procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate, client, and industry safety practices and standards.
  • Initiate and respond to customer inquiries and confirm resolution of troubleshooting issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Electrician Journeyman Ticket, or an Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a recognized institute.
  • 4+ years of experience leading a commissioning team in the electrical utilities industry.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Ability to work for extended periods out of town.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Background check and drug and alcohol pre-access testing are required as part of employment.
