Description

  • Test and commission power system protection and control schemes for utility, power generation, and oil and gas projects.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and troubleshoot technical issues in the field.
  • Prepare and submit commissioning reports and related documentation.
  • Assist in developing commissioning startup procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensure work complies with corporate, client, and industry safety standards.
  • Communicate with customers to discuss issues, clarify trouble details, and confirm resolutions.
  • Support a wide range of commissioning activities across projects from startup through completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a Power Systems Electrician Journeyman Ticket, or an Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a recognized institute.
  • 3+ years of experience in MV and HV commissioning.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work extended periods out of town on a fly-in fly-out schedule.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Background check, identity verification, criminal background check, and Drug and Alcohol Pre-Access Testing are required.
  • Summer student programs are welcomed.
  • Experience in field services or protection and control work is implied by the role title and context.
