Description

  • Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, labs, physicians, lab staff, purchasing personnel, and other customers.
  • Prospect new customers and convert them into Penumbra product users.
  • Grow account penetration and secure or renew orders for new and existing products and services.
  • Coordinate product availability, delivery dates, and inventory levels to support customer orders.
  • Communicate programs, promotions, pricing trends, and product information to current and prospective customers.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales plans in partnership with Sales leadership.
  • Maintain knowledge of new Penumbra offerings and competitive products, promotions, and market activity.
  • Attend assigned trade shows, follow up on leads and orders, and report outcomes to sales and marketing management.
  • Maintain accurate sales expense records, customer files, and field sales reports.
  • Follow applicable quality, security, privacy, compliance, and regulatory procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of medical sales experience, including 3+ years in medical device sales, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Sales or marketing background is desired.
  • Strong clinical, technical, and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding, and competitive environment.
  • Must reside within the assigned Inland Empire, California region; relocation assistance is not provided.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% for territory and product-line support.
  • Ability to wear 7–9 pounds of lead for extended periods and lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in office, laboratory, and cleanroom environments, with potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
  • Occasional 24/7 on-call availability is required.

  • Annual base salary range of $175,000–$215,000 for new hires.
