Description

  • Monitor news and events across print, digital, television, radio, and social media platforms.
  • Collaborate with analysts to deliver timely and effective client alerts.
  • Collect and prepare data for media analysis and scheduled reports.
  • Support long-term research projects on reputation, trends, and stakeholder views.
  • Create Excel pivot tables and update report graphics and charts.
  • Write clear descriptions that explain the stories behind data.
  • Validate and interpret automated reputation-risk and stakeholder-view scores from Penta’s proprietary platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; communications, journalism, economics, history, or another social science is preferred.
  • Experience writing analytical reports and creating presentations using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Solid understanding of Excel for exploratory data analysis and visualization.
  • Strong interest in media, the 24/7 news cycle, and the intersection of culture, business, and politics.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and interest in interpreting the deeper meaning behind content and data.
  • Strong attention to detail, ownership, prioritization, and teamwork skills.
  • Coachability and a learning- and growth-oriented mindset.
  • Must be located in the United States and available to work remotely 35–40 hours per week.
  • Available for a six-month internship, including a morning or evening shift and rotational weekend evening shifts.

Benefits

  • $20 per hour; non-exempt position eligible for overtime at time-and-a-half for pre-approved hours exceeding 40 per week.
