Description

  • Lead and manage the Data Platform team (5 people) as part of the broader Data Engineering organization, driving team performance and growth.
  • Define the team roadmap based on business priorities and technical requirements, and own delivery and prioritization of roadmap items.
  • Design and contribute technically to data solutions including streaming, ETL, batch processing, scheduling, data warehousing, and middleware components (CI/CD, core components as a service).
  • Collaborate closely with machine learning engineers, analysts, and product managers to tailor data solutions for stakeholder needs and maximize business impact.
  • Work hand-in-hand with software engineering teams (data producers) to guarantee data quality, integrity, and promote a production-grade data culture.
  • Recruit, mentor, and grow team members while partnering with other managers to establish the right culture, processes and best practices.
  • Drive cross-team initiatives to improve the data platform, stack, and operational processes across the Data department.
  • Be accountable for team onboarding, stakeholder relationships, and progressively increasing responsibilities in project and people leadership.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing and growing data engineering or data platform teams and delivering on a technical roadmap.
  • Hands-on data engineering expertise with experience in streaming, ETL, batch processing, scheduling, and data warehousing.
  • Familiarity with the technical stack mentioned: AWS, Terraform, streaming systems, batch processing, scheduling and warehousing tools.
  • Ability to contribute technically to platform and middleware components (CI/CD, core services) and collaborate with ML engineers and analysts.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with Product Managers, software engineers and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Comfortable in a fast-changing environment and able to prioritize business-led actions.
  • English proficiency (level assessed per department) and ability to work with distributed, multi-national teams.
  • Eligible and willing to work remotely from a European country within a maximum of two hours’ difference from CET (role is remote/Europe-focused).
