Description

  • Build and operate machine-learning models that learn each customer’s financial and operational patterns.
  • Develop grounded LLM and agentic systems that generate traceable natural-language outputs.
  • Own significant portions of the AI and intelligence layer from design through production deployment.
  • Ensure AI outputs are supported by verified data or human confirmation and prevent fabricated responses.
  • Develop per-customer models while maintaining strict anti-leakage and data-isolation controls.
  • Measure system quality rigorously and convert user feedback into durable product improvements.
  • Deploy AI systems across SaaS multi-tenant, single-tenant, and on-premises environments on AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Collaborate with Staff AI, evaluation, backend, architecture, and product teams.
  • Build robust production systems and grow toward staff-level technical ownership.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of data engineering experience, including significant Staff, Principal, or Lead-level experience.
  • Experience owning data architecture for complete systems and designing canonical or common data models used by multiple teams.
  • Ability to add customers and data sources through configuration, reusable mapping frameworks, or connector strategies rather than code rewrites.
  • Expert SQL and dbt or similar modeling experience, including window functions, large joins, incremental and CDC models, and performance tuning.
  • Deep knowledge of Snowflake, BigQuery, and/or PostgreSQL, including partitioning, internals, and cost-performance trade-offs.
  • Production experience with Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect and idempotent, reproducible pipelines.
  • Experience implementing lineage, data contracts, data quality testing, and schema evolution using tools such as OpenLineage, dbt exposures, or Great Expectations.
  • Strong Python skills for pipelines, tooling, and testing, with a commitment to correctness and traceability.
  • Experience leading and mentoring distributed or offshore data engineering teams.
  • Clear written and verbal English communication with architects, backend and AI engineers, product teams, and US-based colleagues.
  • Willingness to work several hours overlapping with US time zones.
  • Experience with financial or ERP data such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Workday is preferred.
  • Experience with multi-cloud and customer-hosted deployments, Docker or containers, tenant isolation, and in-VPC workloads is preferred.
  • FinTech or financial-services experience, SOC 2 or audit exposure, synthetic test datasets, and curated data layers for ML or LLM systems are preferred.
