Description

  • Troubleshoot and repair utility-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits.
  • Perform field testing such as LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and IR scans.
  • Lead and direct a crew of 4+ field technicians at active solar farm sites.
  • Assign work, track progress, and keep jobs on schedule.
  • Perform operations and maintenance on utility-scale solar plants and power plant equipment.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Enforce OSHA and NFPA 70E safety requirements on site.
  • Diagnose system issues and resolve problems in the field.
  • Complete work orders, service logs, and other required documentation.
  • Train and support junior technicians in the field.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of utility-scale solar experience on solar farms or ground-mount systems.
  • Experience leading crews of 4+ technicians or serving as a lead tech on site.
  • Experience with megawatt-scale PV systems; residential rooftop solar experience is not sufficient.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair experience with inverters, DC systems, and power electronics.
  • Experience performing solar operations and maintenance work.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and NFPA 70E safety standards.
  • Experience using multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and other testing equipment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be willing to travel 100% and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Preferred compensation details include $28.00-$40.00+ hourly DOE, with eligibility for performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, per diem, and other applicable compensation.
