Description

  • Maintain commercial generators by diagnosing issues, repairing problems, and replacing components or entire systems.
  • Perform regular performance checks and preventive maintenance to ensure generator readiness.
  • Read and follow blueprints and other design specifications to install or repair equipment.
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring, controls, and related components.
  • Test installed or repaired systems to verify proper operation.
  • Respond promptly to power and generator alarms, including on-call coverage as needed.
  • Work safely around power supply equipment, switching gear, and other hazardous conditions.
  • Attend and participate in required safety and training meetings.
  • Travel as needed to job sites and work extended or irregular hours, including emergency callouts.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of generator maintenance experience preferred.
  • At least 1 year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA standards.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and prolonged standing.
  • Willingness to drive long distances and work day, evening, night, overtime, weekends, holidays, and extended on-call assignments.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
