Description

  • Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payrolls for 50–500 employees.
  • Validate time entries, overtime, bonuses, and deductions before payroll runs.
  • Run payroll using systems such as ADP, Paychex, Gusto, QuickBooks Payroll, or BambooHR.
  • Post payroll transactions into QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Xero.
  • Reconcile payroll clearing accounts, bank statements, and payroll-related balances.
  • Prepare, file, and maintain compliance for federal, state, and local payroll taxes and forms.
  • Reconcile healthcare, retirement, and other benefits contributions against employee elections and policies.
  • Respond to employee questions about pay stubs, withholding, direct deposits, and payroll setup.
  • Generate payroll reports, headcount summaries, and variance analysis for audits and budgeting.
  • Improve payroll workflows, document SOPs, and support process automation using Excel or integrations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one payroll system such as ADP, Paychex, Gusto, QuickBooks Payroll, or BambooHR.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and reconciliations.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll taxes and compliance requirements.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and resolve discrepancies quickly.
  • Comfortable working remotely and aligned to U.S. time zones.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.
  • Experience with multi-state or international payroll preferred.
  • Experience reconciling payroll with accounting systems or working with HRIS/payroll integrations preferred.
