Description

  • Conduct daily site observations to verify that work activities meet company, customer, and regulatory safety standards.
  • Identify job hazards and unsafe behaviors and implement measures to reduce risk.
  • Perform and document atmospheric testing using appropriate meters, including calibration, recording, and storage of data.
  • Monitor the proper handling, use, and storage of safety equipment.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, document root causes and corrective actions, and help prevent recurrence.
  • Manage safety permits and documentation for hot work, confined spaces, scaffolding, and other regulated activities.
  • Provide real-time recommendations when unexpected safety concerns arise on site.
  • Support the project safety plan by ensuring safety protocols are in place and operating from day one.
  • Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, workers, and clients to maintain consistent safety practices.
  • Lead by example and take initiative to address safety issues proactively while working independently on site.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction site safety management or a related field.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • NCCCO Rigger Level I certification preferred; candidates without it may be considered if willing to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience implementing and managing safety programs in construction projects is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards is preferred.
  • HAZWOPER certification is preferred.
