Description

  • Develop software in an agile environment using test-driven development and flexible pair programming.
  • Collaborate with product and design to shape the application and product direction.
  • Direct key technical decisions related to application architecture and data model design.
  • Maintain stable, performant application stacks.
  • Deliver high-quality code that supports business goals.
  • Apply knowledge of data structures, TDD, and software engineering design patterns and principles.
  • Lead the team in making technical decisions.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and help resolve critical system issues quickly.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in system reliability and availability.
  • Mentor and support engineers as part of a staff-level role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a production environment with Ruby on Rails or other open source languages such as Python, Go, or Node.js.
  • Staff-level engineering experience with technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring.
  • Must reside in the U.S.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout employment; no visa sponsorship is available for this role.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, S3, and RDS is preferred.
  • Exposure to healthcare technologies such as FHIR or HL7 is preferred.
