Description

  • Own the global product taxonomy, category hierarchy, and catalog data model as the company expands into new categories.
  • Maintain and improve the global catalog style guide, glossary, training materials, and design review guide.
  • Administer catalog attributes, values, naming conventions, and data-quality standards across the platform.
  • Interview category managers and subject-matter experts to define ideal-state requirements and identify current-state limitations.
  • Lead design reviews for category managers and analysts and provide actionable feedback.
  • Develop the merchandising team’s catalog and taxonomy skills and strengthen team processes.
  • Standardize sourcing and provenance attributes such as manufacturer, brand, and product line.
  • Set long-term strategy for catalog data management, quality, and governance.
  • Own catalog functionality enhancement requirements from definition and business justification through prioritization and delivery with Product and Engineering.
  • Collaborate with the clinical division to support new category launches and ensure catalog support for new clinical use cases.
  • Advance AI-assisted catalog tooling and repeatable workflows for catalog building and quality monitoring.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in taxonomy, information architecture, and metadata or attribute modeling, ideally for a large, complex product catalog.
  • Hands-on experience administering catalog or product information management (PIM) systems.
  • Experience defining data-quality standards for catalog or product data.
  • Track record of turning ambiguous catalog problems into clear requirements and prioritizing enhancement work by business impact.
  • Strong cross-functional partnership skills and comfort serving as the in-house authority on catalog structure.
  • Systems thinking with a bias toward durable processes, documentation, and tooling.
  • Ability to up-level an early-stage team and openness to direct or dotted-line management as the function evolves.
  • Healthcare, DME, or medical supplies domain experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of semantic web standards OWL and SKOS is a bonus.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; this role is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship.
