Description

  • Support and maintain food safety and quality programs aligned with USDA, FSIS, HACCP, and internal standards.
  • Serve as a coordination point between internal teams and co-manufacturing partners on food safety and quality processes.
  • Review production and quality records from co-manufacturers to verify compliance and identify gaps.
  • Track, investigate, and help resolve nonconformances, complaints, and CAPAs.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation for HACCP plans, SOPs, SSOPs, CCP monitoring, and sanitation logs.
  • Apply USDA/FSIS regulations and guidance to daily quality activities and escalate complex issues when needed.
  • Support FSIS product label review by identifying issues and coordinating resolution with stakeholders and partners.
  • Assist with internal audits, third-party audits such as SQF/BRC, and USDA/FSIS inspections.
  • Collaborate with QA, R&D, operations, and external partners to support QMS requirements and continuous improvement.
  • Track quality data, maintain document control records, and communicate findings and corrective actions clearly to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, biology, chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in USDA/FSIS-regulated food manufacturing, with meat, poultry, or seafood strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting HACCP programs, GMPs, SSOPs, CAPA processes, and audit readiness.
  • Familiarity with FSIS labeling requirements and regulatory documentation.
  • Experience working with co-manufacturers, suppliers, or multi-site quality systems preferred.
  • Experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with GFSI standards such as SQF and BRC, and with electronic document control systems.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and collaboration tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating cross-functionally and knowing when to escalate issues.
  • HACCP certification preferred.
  • PCQI certification preferred.
  • SQF Practitioner certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits preferred.
