Description

  • Design and build customer-facing applications for the Android platform.
  • Own tasks end-to-end in a fast-paced, solution-driven environment.
  • Architect modular, reusable code for maintainable Android applications.
  • Collaborate with the product team to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Write clean code and comprehensive tests.
  • Work with external data sources and APIs.
  • Fix bugs and improve app performance.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies.
  • Collaborate with other Android developers and engineering disciplines on the smart-device experience.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in a computer-oriented field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of work experience.
  • Deep understanding of Android paradigms.
  • Strong passion for Kotlin.
  • Experience with collaborative source control, preferably Git.
  • Experience developing feature-rich Android apps.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to rapidly iterate from prototype to shipping product.
  • Solid understanding of memory management.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and analysis tools.
  • Comfort with Test-Driven Development and Continuous Build and Integration methodologies.
  • Upbeat, adaptable, and results-oriented with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent judgment and integrity with the ability to make timely, sound decisions.
  • Proven ability to take ownership, solve problems proactively, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
  • Preferred experience developing apps for IoT devices, especially Bluetooth devices.
  • Preferred experience working within a larger product team.
  • Bonus interest or experience with YAML, Gradle, structured concurrency, Jetpack Compose, and Kotlin Multiplatform.
