Description

  • Develop and optimize firmware for battery charging systems, PMIC integration, power sequencing, and charging interfaces.
  • Contribute to the full power management firmware stack, including low-power states, battery management, charger negotiation, and system power transitions.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, hardware bring-up, NPI validation, manufacturing ramp, and post-launch sustaining.
  • Work directly with schematics, datasheets, specifications, and lab equipment to debug board-level and system-level power and charging designs.
  • Implement and maintain device drivers for PMICs, chargers, and related subsystems.
  • Contribute to firmware porting across MCU platforms and support safe, reliable firmware update mechanisms.
  • Develop factory test firmware and help define manufacturing test specifications.
  • Troubleshoot issues during hardware builds, production ramp, and field deployments.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, product, program management, and manufacturing teams on system-level technical decisions.
  • Design firmware architectures that balance power consumption, performance, reliability, and user experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of firmware development experience in battery-powered consumer electronics or other high-volume embedded systems.
  • Significant experience integrating PMICs, battery chargers, fuel gauges, and protection circuits.
  • Strong understanding of charging algorithms, current/voltage regulation, thermal management, and safety mechanisms.
  • Expert-level C/C++ development in resource-constrained systems.
  • Deep understanding of MCU peripherals, interrupts, power domains, and RTOS-based systems.
  • Demonstrated experience optimizing power states, wake-up flows, and power transitions to maximize battery life.
  • Experience with battery qualification processes and development.
  • Comfort working in an agile development environment with strong collaboration and communication skills across distributed teams.
  • Experience supporting factory firmware releases, ramp activities, and production troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, logic analyzers, and other lab tools to root-cause charging and power issues.
  • Strong system-level thinking across hardware, firmware, and manufacturing processes.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
