Description

  • Lead research directions for foundation models using longitudinal wearable and physiological data.
  • Translate open-ended questions into hypotheses, modeling approaches, datasets, and experimental infrastructure.
  • Develop capabilities in representation learning, forecasting, personalization, multimodal modeling, and generative modeling.
  • Design rigorous evaluations that address leakage, confounding, generalization, and benchmark robustness.
  • Move promising research from results to prototypes, validation, and shipped product experiences.
  • Build data, training, and evaluation systems to test research ideas.
  • Publish scientifically significant findings when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with scientists, clinicians, engineers, and product partners while independently driving ambiguous work.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant machine learning research and applied experience, including doctoral research experience.
  • PhD or MSc in machine learning, computer science, statistics, electrical engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Deep expertise in foundation models, representation learning, large-scale training, and model evaluation.
  • Track record of identifying important questions, forming original hypotheses, and designing credible experiments.
  • Strong grounding in probability, statistics, experimental design, and robust evaluation.
  • Advanced Python proficiency and experience with PyTorch, JAX, or similar modern ML frameworks.
  • Strong first-author, peer-reviewed publication record in leading machine learning, time-series, digital health, or related venues.
  • Experience with longitudinal time-series, wearable sensors, physiological signals, or real-world health data preferred.
  • Experience with multimodal or generative modeling, forecasting, personalization, efficient or on-device models, or ML systems preferred.
  • Remote U.S. availability; candidates cannot reside in Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Dakota, West Virginia, or Wisconsin.
