Description

  • Manage a team of Android and iOS engineers building, shipping, and maintaining Oura app features.
  • Oversee cross-functional technical projects and collaborate with engineering teams and colleagues in the EU.
  • Contribute to project planning and scoping and own engineering execution and delivery.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Science, Research, Data Science, Regulatory, Marketing, and other global stakeholders.
  • Mentor direct reports, support skill development, and foster professional growth.
  • Provide technical leadership and participate in technical discussions and decision-making.
  • Evaluate technical trade-offs and make decisions that affect entire projects.
  • Champion engineering excellence, establish key metrics, and drive operational improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing software engineers.
  • Technical degree or equivalent software engineering work experience.
  • Experience managing Android and/or iOS engineers.
  • Experience with agentic coding and AI development workflows.
  • Experience shipping consumer-facing mobile applications and/or the systems that power them.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum processes and advocating for process improvements.
  • Strong communication, project management, and delegation skills.
  • Ability to drive cross-functional projects from inception to product launch.
  • Strong people management skills with a growth mindset and ability to give and receive feedback.
  • Ability to support work-life balance and promote team well-being.
  • Preferred: 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years managing software engineers.
  • Preferred: Prior professional native development experience in Android or iOS.
  • Preferred: Experience delivering software products in fitness, health, wellness, or women’s health.
  • Preferred: Experience with FDA-regulated products or other regulated health industries.
  • Preferred: Experience with wearable devices and/or machine learning algorithms.
  • Preferred: Experience coordinating complex projects across mobile, backend, data science, firmware, and QA, including release management.
  • Preferred: Experience working asynchronously with distributed teams across countries, time zones, and cultures.
