Description

  • Lead a team of direct and indirect reports responsible for provider contract negotiation, execution, and analysis.
  • Drive contracting strategies in partnership with market leaders to support network adequacy, development, and cost management objectives.
  • Lead settlement negotiations and resolve disputes to reach mutually beneficial provider agreements.
  • Manage complex contracts with large, national, and other complex healthcare providers while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop contracting managers, associates, and specialists while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Review and analyze provider contracts to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Use knowledge of provider financial issues and competitor strategies to inform negotiation and contracting decisions.
  • Implement contracting policies and workflows to ensure efficient contracting processes across the team.
  • Monitor key metrics for network performance, cost, and provider satisfaction and report findings to leadership.
  • Resolve provider issues related to contract terms, reimbursement, and network participation while maintaining positive provider relationships.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in healthcare network contracting, including contracts with health systems, hospitals, national providers, provider relations, or network management.
  • 4+ years of experience managing complex provider network strategies and negotiating complex contracts.
  • 3+ years of experience in the health insurance industry, including Individual and/or ACA Marketplace, and/or the broader healthcare industry.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional working experience (preferred).
  • 3+ years of leadership experience (preferred).
  • Experience working with large, national, or complex healthcare group/system providers.
  • Working knowledge of provider financial issues.
  • Ability to work in a remote field-based role with frequent local travel.
  • Residence in Ohio, Michigan, or Pennsylvania.
  • Travel expectation of 15%.
