Description

  • Own the technical architecture of the Network Sourced AI squad end to end across design, engineering, deployment, and product roadmap evolution.
  • Drive production readiness through deployment monitoring, error handling, graceful degradation, and operational runbooks.
  • Set and mentor engineering standards for modularity, security, reliability, scalability, code quality, and delivery to production.
  • Collaborate on core technology stack strategy and identify components that should become shared organizational primitives with standard interfaces.
  • Partner with the product lead to develop and execute realistic roadmaps that balance desired outcomes with technical feasibility and scalability.
  • Own the delivery of quarterly engineering goals and manage resources to ensure consistent, high-impact execution.
  • Manage team output, delivery, and success by matching people to work based on interest, learning opportunities, capacity, and capability.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership through individual code contributions, code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge-sharing.
  • Create technical documentation and processes that support high velocity and knowledge transfer.
  • Lead a team of 2-4 engineers through 1:1s, feedback, professional development plans, and performance reviews.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of building, shipping, and operating production systems at meaningful scale.
  • Strong Python proficiency, including FastAPI, async patterns, and Docker orchestration.
  • Experience with Vue 3 / TypeScript, Rust / Tauri, or cross-platform desktop app development is highly beneficial.
  • Networking or P2P application experience is beneficial.
  • Experience with distributed systems and API design, including interfaces used by multiple independent teams.
  • Practical RAG and information retrieval experience with vector databases, retrieval pipelines, embedding strategies, and aggregation.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership through introducing engineering quality practices to one or more teams.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and resource constraints.
  • Strong async communication skills, written communication, and the ability to build high-trust relationships across a 6+ hour time zone spread.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
