Description

  • Build and maintain back-end services and APIs that serve model outputs and analytical indices.
  • Develop the operator-facing web front end for situational awareness and decision support.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, environments, testing, code review, and observability practices on Azure.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and data science teams on API contracts and integration points.
  • Deploy applications on Microsoft Azure using services such as App Service, AKS, and containers.
  • Ensure applications meet availability, security, and low-latency performance requirements.
  • Translate technical decisions from the Technical Lead and Solution Architect into production-ready software.
  • Support end-to-end testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Mentor mid-level engineers and help raise technical standards within the squad.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of deploying robust production software.
  • Strong front-end development experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Solid back-end development experience with Python/Django, Node, or .NET.
  • Production experience deploying and running applications on a major cloud platform, with Azure strongly preferred.
  • Strong API design skills, including authentication/security and integration with data services.
  • Experience with automated testing, including unit, component, and browser testing.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with data visualization and SQL database design and usage.
  • Ability to work autonomously, own features end to end, and communicate clearly with distributed colleagues and client stakeholders in regulated environments.
  • Experience in water, utilities, or other critical/smart-infrastructure environments is preferred.
  • Experience with real-time or event-driven UIs, operational dashboards, or control-room software is desirable.
  • Experience with high-volume or real-time data systems, including time-series databases or telemetry/IoT data, is desirable.
  • Experience mentoring mid-level or junior engineers is desirable.
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is desirable.
