Description

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop core systems and APIs for customer-facing experiences.
  • Build internal tooling and APIs that make business and engineering processes easier, faster, and safer.
  • Implement systemic changes to align existing systems with current architectural goals.
  • Integrate with external services that manage payments, documents, and claims.
  • Integrate with data providers to source real-time property and risk data.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, mentorship, and support to teammates.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to key technical decisions.
  • Take part in daily stand-ups, weekly 1:1s, and biweekly retrospectives.
  • Design, build, test, and maintain backend services and technology for the insurance platform.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional or production experience developing backend web-stack applications.
  • Professional experience using Go in prior roles.
  • Completion of a code challenge in Go as part of the interview process.
  • A sustained track record of improving stability, performance, and scalability in business-critical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complete systems from start to finish with little or no supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience making architectural decisions around microservices vs. monoliths, deployment techniques, technologies, and policies is preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship, Green Card status, or current U.S. work authorization and U.S. residency are required.
  • Experience with the listed stack is relevant, including Go, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub, DataDog, and CircleCI.

  • Budgeted salary range of $145,600 to $163,800 USD, with a full salary range of $145,600 to $218,400 USD.
