Description

  • Proactively test client implementation deployments before go-live using functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and user acceptance testing.
  • Develop and execute test cases for client-specific workflows, integrations, edge cases, and error handling scenarios.
  • Validate data transformations, mappings, API connections, authentication, and end-to-end workflow behavior across systems.
  • Test integrations with realistic data volumes and scenarios, including smoke testing and post-deployment verification.
  • Review project requirements and technical specifications to identify risks early and improve test coverage.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for live client deployments by diagnosing workflow errors, data quality issues, and API connectivity problems.
  • Use JavaScript to troubleshoot issues and make adjustments to OpenFn workflow configurations.
  • Monitor newly deployed integrations and work with implementation teams to prevent recurring issues.
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners, including responding within agreed SLA timeframes and conducting client calls when needed.
  • Document test results, technical issues, and support findings clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Ethiopia.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on software QA testing experience, preferably with integrations, APIs, or implementation projects.
  • Basic JavaScript proficiency or exposure for understanding workflows and making code adjustments during testing and support.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP status codes, JSON/XML data formats, and API authentication methods.
  • Proven ability to design test cases, execute thorough testing, and document findings clearly.
  • Ability to independently investigate, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Comfort working remotely with autonomy while maintaining strong communication with distributed teams.
  • Ownership mindset with a proactive, self-directed approach to quality and issue prevention.
  • Preferred experience testing EMR solutions and health information systems such as DHIS2, OpenMRS, Dagu/eAPTs, and OpenELIS.
  • Preferred experience with API testing tools such as Postman or Insomnia.
  • Preferred understanding of data transformation, ETL processes, or integration platforms.
  • Preferred system administration experience with databases, CRMs, or health information systems.
  • Preferred background in ICT4D, global health, humanitarian technology, or NGO work.
  • Preferred experience in agile, fast-paced project environments.
  • Preferred previous QA experience in implementation or consulting projects.
